Mr. Romero assists businesses and individuals in both commercial litigation and transactional matters. Before joining Flint, Connolly & Walker, LLP, Mr. Romero clerked at a boutique commercial litigation firm, worked with in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 company, and clerked for a federal magistrate judge.

Mr. Romero earned his undergraduate degree in marketing from Indiana State University. After several years in healthcare consulting and in the aviation industry, Mr. Romero earned his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law, where he served as the President of the Moot Court Honor Board and won both the Annual Notre Dame National Appellate Advocacy Tournament for Religious Freedom and the Albany Law School Gabrielli National Family Law Moot Court Competition. 

In his final year of law school, Mr. Romero clerked for a federal magistrate judge in the Middle District of Florida, served on the Board of Governors for the Young Lawyers Division of the Florida Bar, and was a member of the American Inns of Court for the First District Court of Appeals in Florida. 

After earning his J.D., Mr. Romero attended the Notre Dame Law School where he earned his Master of Laws degree (LL.M.). At Notre Dame, Mr. Romero concentrated in intellectual property where he studied privacy law, trademarks and trademark prosecution, copyright law, and patent litigation. While in South Bend, he coached the Notre Dame IP Moot Court team to another national championship in the International Trademark Association’s Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition. Mr. Romero also worked in the Notre Dame Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic, successfully representing clients in trademark prosecution before the USPTO and copyright matters.

• Won summary judgement in the Northern District of Georgia defeating claims regarding the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the Georgia Computer Systems Protection Act, the Georgia Trade Secrets Act, and tortious interference.
• Successfully defended a $650,000.00 trademark infringement claim in the Northern District of Georgia.
• Overcome numerous non-final Office Actions from the USPTO while registering and managing a wide portfolio of trademarks on the national, principal registry.
• Obtained an arbitration award in a home construction dispute, winning a preliminary contract dispute in the process.
• Successfully defended defamation lawsuit by converting a motion dismiss to a motion for summary judgment which forced a favorable settlement agreement and saved the client months of litigation and related costs.
